Lash Lust

Ok so, anyone who is struggling to find the perfect mascara, look NO further. This baby is absolutely amazing and I never want to tube to run out. I discovered this mascara a few years ago in the duty free and have always loved it. But you know what it's like - when make up is so expensive when it runs out you sometimes just find a cheaper replacement. Having recently just returned from NYC and having spent many hours in Times Square Sephora I stocked up on my beloved mascara.

Admittedly I have long eyelashes anyway, but this mascara just coats them so evenly and well, making them bounce up with extra volume. It also manages to separate them so that you don't get that clogged up, cakey look which some mascaras do unfortunately do! When taking the wand out, the brush doesn't look like it has a lot of product on so it's a lovely surprise after the first sweep and all of your lashes are nicely coated. This mascara is definitely build-able depending on the occasion. Day time looks are easily acheivable with one coat but if you are after a night time look with darker, thicker lashes, applying some extra coats on top does the trick.

The price for this beauty must is £25.50 and you can purchase from Debenhams, Selfridges, House of Fraser, John Lewis ... Or at the airport in the trusty duty free. So if you're off on your new year holidays treat yourself to the Giorgio Armani - Eyes to Kill mascara.

The next product I want to give a mention is the Loreal Super Liner eyeliner. I have always used eyeliner, but normally in gel form but I am a bit forgetful when it comes to rushing out the door and remembering to screw the lid back on the gel pot .. So when I return it's just a crusty old mess! Whoops. For New Years Eve this year, a friend of mine is having a fancy dress party so I was YouTubing to get some eye make up inspo and came across this lovely lady's channel with this wonderful product!

https://www.youtube.com/user/BeautyFulfilled

I rushed out to buy it as it looked so easy to use and it really is so true to form. It's just a felt nip that is super defined so that you can get a real precise line and it is really wet and dark black which I have found hard to get using a pen eyeliner. There is no button to press to make it wet and no need to shake, just remember to keep the lid on and it stays lovely and moist. Also like I said up top about the mascara, it is very easy to build for transition looks, day to night.

I hope you have fun with these products and that I have made you winged eyeliner girls life a hell of a lot easier with this! Let me know how you get on and also don't forget to check out Kashaul's YouTube channel for some great 'Get Ready With Me's' and make up tutorials.

Tweeze me, tweeze me, tweeze me, 'till I loose control

Being an avid eyebrow plucker, I have found the ultimate, can't live without, accessory that I have only known and used for 3 years!

I can't believe it has taken me so long to find, but boy am I glad I have. TWEEZERMAN tweezers everybody.

I am now on my third pair of Tweezermans, not because they wear out after a while and stop being so great but simply because I have lost two pairs. I purchase all of mine from Boots purely because of my Boots card - points make prizes! However you can get them from most drugstores or online from Tweerman.com. They have many different types depending on which job you want to focus on. IE, cuticles, eyebrows, some have lights on to see those stragglers that are trying to hide. They also come in various colours with different patterns which just adds to the greatness - but to be honest I would still use them even if they looked horrendous. They retail at a price of (cheapest) £12.50, which admittedly is a bit pricey for a pair of tweezers but you really will get your moneys worth.

The pince on these tweezers is so precise that they can get the smallest hairs in the most difficult places. I could probably end up plucking all my eyebrows off if that look was in right now!

As Christmas is just round the corner these are deifinitely worth a stocking filler. You truly won't forget it!

Let me know if you rush out to buy a pair and what you think.

FABulist

Here are this weeks faves from the Fabulist. As said in my previous post on Fabulilst, you can catch it on E! Sundays @ 6.30pm. But for those who miss it, I'm going to run over the top picks just to keep you in the know!

Im guessing that everyone reading this has watched the Game of Thrones series? If not, you are missing out! Im not one for period dramas, or series but this gave me a surprise. It's actually really good and really gripping. As everyone is loving these box sets one of nows top trends is going back in time. Medieval clothes are hitting all the shops at the mo. One shop being H&M, flowy kilt like dresses and skirts in dark navys and taupes and browns, with embroidery embellished white tops. I actually love this trend. Im a real earth mother with the colours of my clothes so all the dark browns and greens is a real bit of me. This trend adds a sense of vintage to the clothes even though they arent. So it's a great way to appear to be mixing it up when it's all just readily available!

Next up is probably my fave! What with having thick, curly hair, having my hair up is an everyday occurance. We've had the top knot which was slick back, immaculate and tidy now we're rocking the punk knot. This is an untidy, messy, yet soft, and feminine bun. It is so easy to do, even if you have shorter, thinner hair, just get back brushing! It's so simple and quick to achieve, and looks amazing. You would think that a messy hair-do wouldn't look so sexy and go well with a dress BUT I think it looks amazing. Especially paired with something backless. Men love seeing a neck line so bare this is mind when you have your next having a bad hair day!

Lastly, lets get channeling your inner cowgirl with this next trend, double denim. This was around last year and probably the years after that! It's one that wont go away and one I'm still yet to try out. Double denim can look great, jeans look chic and sexy paired with heels, a cami and a denim open button down blouse. Now don't get it twisted, this trend can go terribly wrong so make sure you have it spot on before you leave the house! Oh and .. Guys, I don't think this one is for you.

Tell me what trends you are loving at the moment!

FABulist

So who remembers or still does watch Laguna Beach? I!
If you loved Kristen Cavallari you will love her new show on E! She goes through top and recent trends to see how FABulous they are.

If you haven't been watching here is a recap of the most fan-dabby-dozey trends.

Big HUUUUUUR, dont CUUUUR!
Big hair is BACK with a brand new act. Im not so sure it ever went away to be honest...
Being a white girl with a black girl afro I'm feeling this FAB trend. Quiffs, curls, afros, bouffants, they are all there. A good tip to get some volume into your hair if you struggle to achieve it, is to wash your hair back to front! Conditioner first, then the shampoo.

Usually you'd wear a nice cuff on your wrist to make an outfit. Now it's all about the ear cuff. All on the red carpet this year were ear cuffs. They look amazing with shorter hair, a pixie crop or an up do. They can turn an outfit sexy! More devilish than usual. Personally I cant see myself rocking one any time soon but if you like it, then wear it FABulously.

All you little boobed ladies out there, wave your hands in the air! *WAVES HAND*
If you can safely hold a pencil under your boob then this trend isn't for you! HOWEVER if you weren't blessed with a big bust much like myself then we can all feel special and enjoy this trend just for us! Going braless is all the rage. We all saw Kendall Jenner rock it on the Marc Jacobs runway so why not do it ourselves. I actually love this! Obviously if you have the confidence to do it it's great, I think pert little boobs look great with no bra under dresses and tops, be it low cut or normal. This is seen everywhere on all the celebs! FAB - U - LOUS

Matte Black
Matte Black has been around for a while now but it must be good if it is still around! Nail varnish, cars, phone covers, its literally everywhere. I'm not so sure that I dig it. I kind of think that it just looks foggy? But if it's been FABbed then go craaaaazy with matte black.

Hope you liked some of the Fabulist tips and trends, I will try and upload a Fabulist every week for those who miss it on E!

Let me know which you'll be rocking.

Kind of a Haul // Kind of just my recent faves

Now - I'm starting to realise I have a massive shopping problemo!
But every girl does right? And holiday is soon so I have to ...

Im going to give you a quick run down of my recent purchases some of which I'm totally in love with and are also complete steals! (So get your bank cards at the ready!)

TOPSHOP

I blooming love Topshop but it really does annoy me how over priced somethings are and for only a bit of plain material most of the time. So I'm dead chuffed with my sale buys...

My first buy is this gorgeous Olive green (which is my most favourite colour) satin cropped top. I know we're in spring and Olive green is the worst colour for this time of the year BUT, I wanted it ages ago but just couldn't justify paying full price (£32.00) for it, so when I saw it in the sale for £18.00 I was over the moon.

It looks lovely teamed with leather pants or a leather pencil skirt because it hangs really well and some court shoes. Definitely something high waisted as the top isn't full length. It also has a little do up button on the back which is quite a nice touch. I would suggest an up do with this top and a pretty earring or statement necklace, also with nicely contoured make-up, a winged eye with maybe some MAC eyeshadow in the shade 'Sumptuous Olive' and a nude lip it would finish this look off perfectly.

Next up is this playful little skirt. I don'd have any pleats in my wardrobe so I thought I may as well buy this considering it was another steal from the Topshop sale. Was £40.00, Now £15.00. Again it's a high waisted and dark number (I can see a pattern appearing...) however the pleats, metallic colour and it being high waisted tones it down a bit and makes it a bit more girly and less harsh. I'm still yet to wear this out but I am excited to! I would probably team it with something black up top (surprise surprise) and some block heels. I actually love the shoes they have on the model so I may have to purchase myself some of those, I have seen some similar and probably half of the price in Linzi to wear with it more casually.

ZARA

So, everyone loves Zara and if you dont - you're weird.

Shoes, bags, accessories, clothes, perfume, it really does tick every box. Somethings in Zara are a little pricey but usually you can find some lovely bits for a reasonable price. Perfect example are my next two items. I have needed some block heeled strappy shoes for ages but couldn't find any that I liked and dun dun duuun, Zara comes to the rescue. £29.99 is an absolute bargain for a shoe you know you will live and die in right? I've worn these a few times and they are super comfy. What with them being a chunky heel there is no danger of toppling over and they are quite easy to walk in especially with the ankle strap too (extra keeping the shoe on safety). You can never go wrong with a classic black shoe.

Here I have my first summer purchase! I have ZERO nude shoes flat or heeled so HAD to buy these. They are a beautiful soft leather with a shaped strap over the front of the shoe which I find makes your legs look longer and your feet look nicer. The heel is chunkier than the norm and aren't incredibly high so they are relatively easy to walk in. These look great with all kinds of outfits, long skirts, midi skirts, culottes, cigarette pants the list goes on, so these are definitely one to have in your wardrobe and they wont break the bank in doing so! (Also have them in black too!)

H&M

I absolutely LOVE H&M they have everything in there, lovely jewlery, bags, purses, skin care bits (their face mask are actually good), gym wear, and not to mention all the lovely clothes. I think H&M is great for work wear too as most of their clothes can be dressed up or dressed down. they are starting to bring out a collection line which is more expensive than the usual H&M buys but the clothes are gorg so I guess it's worth it.

Here are some recent buys for work that I would highly recommend.

LOVE these skirts, there are so smart and feminine for the work place. Comfy and very summery which we are all trying to make that slow transition from winter clothes to summer. I bought it in the pink and the beige as I'm trying to brighten up my wardrobe! They are quite adaptable so go with most tops that you want to put with it.

This dress is so cute. I love yellow and the style of this is really lovely. Some more pleats added to my collection! The turquoise in this dress is also lovely. I bought a navy cardigan to go with this and am currently trying to find a patterned blazer to dress it up a bit.

tReds

Finally my last item you will be pleased to know. I don't know how widely spread these stores are but one cropped up in my local town. It's kind of like a Schuh. Anyway, I quickly went in there with a friend and these jumped out at me. I love a court pointed shoe, I have them in all colours ... Except nude! They are a suede material which I prefer to patent even though they're harder to clean! The heel isn't too high at all so they are perfect to walk around work in. I would definitely add these to your collect!

Hope you enjoyed browsing through my shopping basket! I have linked everything on here so you can buy yourself!

MUA - Bare

So my next post is on a lipstick that I bought only recently and have absolutely fallen in love with it.

I've been in search for a nude lipstick for a while now and saw a friend of mine use this one so thought I would give it a try. I normally prefer a red lip as I have green eyes and it brings those out, however red isn't always appropriate for work etc. Also being as it is spring a nude lip looks fresh especially as this one has peachy tones in it.

It is by MUA, of which I don't know huge amounts about (being a MAC girl myself) however at £1 a lipstick you can hardly go wrong! The lipstick is glossy and very moisturising for the lip which is handy if your lips are suffering in the change of the weather, going from Winter into Spring.

I know that different skin tones and hair colours go with certain colour scales of lipsticks and this one would go perfectly with a blonde and I know, I know, I'm a brunette (with a tinge of ginge) but I have fair skin and light eyes so I feel it works. It also works well with the blush i wear (MAC - Peachy Keen).

I definitely recommend this lipstick, so give it a go and let me know your thoughts!

(Purchased from Superdrug).

Oh SNAP!

Well hello there, my first ever blog - here goes!

Growing up I always wanted to be a photographer but for some strange reason I didn't pursue it. Working 9-5 in an office was some how more appealing than travelling the world capturing beautiful landscapes, cultures and food...

So for now I just do it here and there, when I can, as a hobby. On the technical side of things, I don't know much about photography and I probably know as much as the normal person about a camera without reading the instructions. So maybe I just have a good eye and have been lucky with the lighting! All I use is my trusty iPhone (because it comes with me everywhere) and I also have a big Cannon camera, of which I don't even know what model (shows how much I know!).

I mostly take photos of food - to everyones dismay. I don't understand why everyone doesn't love a good food pic!?
Other than that I just like to capture places that I holiday to, for a memory purpose and like I said up top, just a hobby!

I'm going to share with you some of my favourites, hope you enjoy!

Up the top there is probably my favourite and first picture that I thought "Yeah that could sell!"
I took this whilst on a skiing trip with the school so I was quite young (15ish), in Austria - Zell am See.
I originally took it in colour but I personally love a black&white photo and thought it fit better with the coldness of the photo. I think it also shows the textures and different dimensions in the picture better.

I could sit in that chair going round and round all day taking in the fresh air and sights.

Just him, his snow board and the snow. (Oh and me).

There's something about this photo that makes me feel free...

And now for Venice where we were blessed with the most amazing weather!

This was a concoction of fruits, juices, yogurt and alcohol .. Mainly alcohol.

Wonderful fresh fruit and veggies.

"Pretty as a picture"...

Going down under...

Scarborough beach, Perth

If heights isn't your thing, I would advise to not go up the tower!

This may look like it's in sepia tone - it's not! Just bush fire smoke in Darling Harbour

Lone tree in Cairns

Cairns

This place was bliss during the hot days - Cairns Lagoon

Thats enough pictures for now!

Hope you enjoyed browsing and my first post - Let me know what you think.
